Why do men think that they are the only ones affected by stress? Holidays in general are very stressful, add that my son's birthday is tomorrow and he has ordered me to make at least 28 cupcakes for him to take to school, there are cookies to bake, and my dear husband is working horrible hours for the next few days so he won't be home until 10. He's getting all crabby because of the stress of working these horrible shifts, but doesn't see how it affects his family too. I am the one dealing with both kids, and trying to calm my three-year-old daughter down when she starts crying saying she wants her daddy. I'm tired and would like a break from my job on occasion as well, but being mommy, cook, housekeeper, organizer, entertainer, etc means that you don't get vacation time.
I am very thankful for my wonderful friend Marla who helps me keep my sanity and will talk me through those damn alcohol fantasies that begin early afternoon (if I'm lucky).

I echo your sentiments completely. Just a little time off would be nice.
(Corrine in Texas, and we have no snow but I haven't felt motivated to do laundry either)
