Ramblings

Yesterday my daughter was looking out of the window, watching it snow, big huge flakes that remind me of lake effect snow back in Chicago, and she starts talking about how much she loves snow. I mistakenly mention snowman and she starts talking about how she doesn't have a magic hat. Can you tell that this girl watched Frosty the Snowman everyday for a couple of weeks leading up to x-mas? I'm afraid that she's going to expect mom to produce a magic hat from who-knows-where when it comes time to making a snowman. She's going to be very disappointed when she doesn't have a talking, dancing snowman out there.
Last night, talking about watching a movie this weekend, my three-year-old daughter looks at me and says "Spiderman." My husband is corrupting her, and getting her to watch bad movies already! She's supposed to say "Notebook" or some other approved chick flick. Meanwhile, my nine-year-old son must be channelling a teenager as he's rolling his eyes at me, throwing his arms up in the air, and stomping to his room. He's really making me feel as though I'm getting the mom of the year award.
